Gin is like an orchestra. Each individual component works together for the perfect symphony. If one area is too strong, it throws the whole ensemble out of harmony. With No. 3 Gin, the art of cohesion lies in simplicity: six precisely measured ingredients, an ABV dialed in to a martini-ready 46%, and production led by top London bartenders and the only person to have a Ph.D. in gin, Dr. David Clutton.
The end result is worth cherishing, as many awards have proven. No. 3 is the only gin to be awarded the title of ‘world’s best’ four times by the International Spirits Challenge, as well as the only unaged spirit to be awarded the supreme champion spirit in the competition’s history.
History is a guiding principle for No. 3 Gin. In 2008, the team at Berry Bros. & Rudd—London’s oldest wine and spirit merchant, which was founded in 1698 at No. 3 St James’s Street—set out to make the perfect London Dry gin for martinis and gin and tonics. Two years later, with insight from Dr. Clutton along with other masters in gin and top mixologists, the team landed on the ideal recipe for a juniper-forward spirit balanced by citrus and spice—and the perfect distillery at which to make it. No. 3 Gin is made at the De Kuyper Royal Distillers in Holland, which has a history even older than Berry Bros. & Rudd, starting three years earlier in 1695.

The gin starts with a base of neutral French winter wheat spirit. The six botanicals—juniper, coriander, cardamom, angelica root, and orange and grapefruit peels—are steeped in the spirit for 16 hours in a 100-year-old, brick-encased copper pot still, and then distilled for seven hours. The heart of the distillate is triple-checked before being proofed down to 46% ABV. The final spirit is bottled in entirely recyclable packaging relying on key production partners with green credentials.
The result is a crisp, smooth, juniper-forward London Dry gin complemented by natural orange sweetness and warming spice with a dry, earthy finish. It is perfectly designed for gin’s most famous cocktail, and martini experts agree. Alessandro Palazzi of The Duke’s Bar in London trusts No. 3 Gin for his world-famous martinis. The higher proof allows the full gin flavors to shine through in the cocktail for a reliable juniper profile softened by citrus and botanicals.
While the martini is a tried-and-true classic, No. 3 can elevate a range of cocktails, from a relaxing gin and tonic to a black-tie Negroni. The desire for a high-quality gin that makes consistently dignified cocktails is only growing. According to Nielsen, the ultra-premium gin category grew eight percent year-over-year, while No. 3 Gin grew 28 percent. No. 3 is a classic go-to bottle—a gin that cocktail lovers can trust to always play harmoniously.
