Beaujolais Hit With Extreme Weather

On Monday Beaujolais was hit with hail and a mini tornado along the same path as a storm that hit last year and caused severe damage. Fleurie and Chénas were hit yesterday but the extent of the damage has not been established yet.

Fire Blazes Near Vineyards In California

A fire outside Santa Maria is currently covering 29,000 acres adjacent to vineyards and wineries. Early assessments are optimistic that the fire is moving away from the vineyards and that offshore winds kept the smoke away from the vines.

Acting Director Of Texas Liquor Agency Quits

After only a few weeks as acting director of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Ed Swedberg abruptly quit. This is the sixth high level departure for the TABC after revelations of mismanagement and regulatory overreach.
