Drinks like the Margarita—and its key ingredient tequila—are highly popular in the U.S. throughout the year. In fact, according to NielsenIQ data, tequila is one of the few categories of beverage alcohol that saw significant growth in 2024. But tequila sales become all the more important in the spring, when consumers gear up for Cinco de Mayo. Stocking the right brands during this time can set a business up for a major holiday sales boost—and keep that momentum going for the rest of the year.

In an increasingly crowded category like tequila, knowing which brands produce the unique, quality-driven products that consumers are looking for is key—and additive-free tequila has never been more in demand. Suerte Tequila, for example, uses rare production techniques like 100 percent tahona crushing to craft authentic tequila. At LALO, every element of production is tailored towards its ultimate goal of crafting the purest possible expression of tequila blanco. The attention to detail that goes into these brands has earned them both awards and fast-growing sales.

This Cinco de Mayo, stock up on additive-free brands LALO and Suerte Tequila to set your business up for success during the celebration and beyond.

Suerte Tequila

Centuries ago, hundreds of rabbits were seen bouncing through the fields of Mexico, lapping up juices from fermented agave plants. The nectar they were drinking was collected by a local farmer’s wife, brought into the hacienda and, for the first time, everyone did tequila shots. To Suerte Tequila, those rabbits were heroes.

Today, Suerte Tequila is perfecting the tequila those rabbits discovered. Using traditional methods like slow roasting agave and 100 percent tahona crushing—a rarity among tequila brands—Suerte is creating a more authentic, nuanced tequila. Produced at Tequilera Simbolo (NOM 1530) in the highlands of Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco, Suerte is also among the two percent of tequila brands with a dedicated distillery, ensuring full control over quality and sustainability. Suerte’s lineup of award-winning tequilas includes a Blanco, Blanco Still Strength, Reposado, Añejo, and Extra Añejo, as well as Margarita, Paloma, and Ranch Water canned cocktails.

LALO

From humble beginnings as a small-batch blanco made for the friends and family of its founders, Eduardo “Lalo” González and David R. Carballido, in Jalisco, LALO has become amongst the fastest-growing additive-free tequilas in the U.S. The third-generation tequileros craft the spirit with a time-honored process that celebrates the agave, using only three ingredients and no aging.

Committed to creating the purest expression of tequila blanco, each step of their process focuses on capturing that clean taste, from the water drawn from a deep well in the mineral-rich soil to the proprietary Champagne yeast used to elicit the crisp and bright flavor profile during fermentation. The resulting liquid has top notes of sweet potato and cinnamon with hints of dulce de leche, finishing with gentle citrus and tropical fruit notes. Mexican-owned and produced to this day, the tequila they once shared as a family tradition is now available for Cinco de Mayo celebration across the U.S.
