As one of Italy’s most prominent wine producers, Piccini has played a leading role in the production and expansion of the great wines of Tuscany, pushing the boundaries of Chianti, Chianti Classico, and Montalcino’s reach for more than a century. Though the winery remains committed to the traditions of its historic home region, Piccini’s innovative approach to winemaking continues to propel the company forward on the global stage with approachable and dynamic wines that appeal to new and seasoned enthusiasts.

The company’s legacy dates back to 1882 when Angiolo Piccini founded a small winery in the heart of Tuscany. In the years since, the Piccini family has maintained its thoughtful stewardship while pushing the brand to new heights. Under the guidance of Angiolo’s son Mario, Piccini survived the challenges of the Great Depression and World War II and was introduced to the international stage. Pierangiolo Piccini, Mario’s son, followed in his father’s footsteps and ushered the company into a new era of enterprise, purchasing the famous Fattoria di Valiano estate in the Chianti Classico region in 1995, and six years later, Tenuta Moraia in Maremma.

When Pierangiolo’s son, also named Mario, took the reins in 2004, the Piccini brand’s impact flourished, with Regio Cantina in Basilicata joining the Piccini family estates in 2013, followed by properties in Sicily and, most recently, in Piemonte and Veneto. Since the fifth generation joined the company in 2017, Piccini’s flair for innovation has only amplified with Piccini 1882, the new Piccini brand inspired by the family’s deep appreciation for heritage and Italian ingenuity.

Perhaps no wine in its portfolio showcases Piccini’s harmonic approach to innovation and tradition more than its iconic Chianti Arancio. With its bold, memorable orange label and equally vibrant profile, Chianti Arancio has inspired a new generation of consumers worldwide, while  bottlings of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG continue to mesmerize longtime connoisseurs with exclusive, terroir-driven expressions.

Balancing traditional methods and regional identity with a modern approach is paramount in the winemaking at Piccini. Sustainability remains a core theme at the company, and its commitments to the land and its people align with a new generation of environmentally and socially conscious global consumers. Through cutting-edge techniques that minimize the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, Piccini’s organic practices help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, optimize water consumption, and promote the adoption of renewable energy sources. Sustainable efforts at Piccini don’t end in the vineyard and cellar either. The company upholds social responsibilities that uplift not only its workers, but also the communities in which its properties are located.

Through its philosophy of dynamism driven by passion and dedication to its Tuscan roots, Piccini has cultivated a reputation for excellence with worldwide appeal. The company’s international distribution spans over 90 countries, enabling the Piccini name to continue as a global innovator while attracting a diverse community of consumers.
