Nearly two-and-a-half centuries ago, John Jameson started making a smooth, triple-distilled whiskey that still defines Irish spirits today. Jameson’s blend of pot still and grain whiskeys has helped the brand become the world’s number one selling Irish whiskey, thanks to the approachable flavor profile.
Now, Jameson is leaning on a historic mash bill for something new. Distiller’s Batch, Jameson’s latest expression, is a single pot still Irish whiskey. The latest release maintains the triple distillation and the mix of malted and unmalted barley Jameson Original is known for, but leans into the full flavors that come from the copper pot still style that’s unique to Ireland. While a departure from the softer grain-spirit blend, Distiller’s Batch keeps a tie to some of the earliest Jameson recipes.
“Two hundred years ago, one of the very first Jameson recipes was crafted in the Single Pot Still tradition—a legacy we discovered in a mashbill handwritten by John Jameson II in a pocket notebook dated 1826, still kept today in our archive in Midleton,” says Kevin O’Gorman, the master distiller and master of maturation at Jameson.

Distiller’s Batch is matured in five cask types hand-selected by O’Gorman: ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, and virgin Irish, European, and American oak. It’s bottled at 46% ABV and layered with spice notes and the rich, silky texture that made it an award-winning liquid recognized across the industry, including a gold medal at the 2025 International Spirits Challenge and a double gold at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
“Distiller’s Batch is our way of celebrating that origin story,” O’Gorman says. “Bringing together five cask types is a careful balancing act, and every one contributes something to the final whiskey. The result is an expression with real character that still feels unmistakably Jameson.”
Dark chocolate and spicy toffee lead the flavor profile, with ground cinnamon, ginger, and orange peel filling in behind them. Distiller’s Batch is designed to be sipped neat or in a cocktail that lets the spirit shine through, like a Distiller’s Batch Manhattan with dark amaro, orange bitters, Morello cherry syrup, and an orange twist.
Jameson’s portfolio has a whiskey for every occasion, including Jameson Original, Jameson Orange, Jameson Triple Triple, and Jameson Black Barrel. The brand has built a lineup that drinkers trust and bartenders love, with the brand topping Irish whiskey lists, according to the Drinks International Brands Report. With the addition of Distiller’s Batch this fall—at just $49.99 SRP—there’s now a higher-proof, single pot still option from a brand that spirits lovers already ask for by name.
